Luna Gallery

Luna Gallery is a company just starting up that will specialise in online sales of quality hand-made jewellery from a range of designers.

I have been involved in all stages of development from the beginning, including market research, marketing advice, logo design, information architecture, development of processes to streamline stock photography and search engine optimisation as well as designing and building the pages.

Part of the brief was to create a site that was attractive to look at but easy to use. An issue identified early on was that designer jewellery can be hard to sell online because many people want to touch or feel it.

The solution was to photograph each piece from a number of angles and allow users to choose the size of image that suited their level of interest or connection speed. The challenge with this approach was to keep the page uncluttered, clear and easy to view.

Another part of the brief was to design an architecture that would be easy to maintain with a large number of different and changing products whilst keeping as many pages visible to search engines as possible.

The site is planned to go live in autumn 2005.
