I was previously a web designer with Sigmer Technologies, a web development firm based in Brighton. I am now working free-lance in Sheffield.
Squid-ink sites are based on the belief that an effective web site is clear, simple and attractive to potential customers, whilst being easy for companies to run. A number of sites I have worked on are designed from the ground up to work with the Scribe content management system, which means that site owners can create new pages and update old ones with only minimal technical knowledge.
I believe that ease of navigation and clarity of purpose are important to customers looking for information. If there is a fancy animation on a Squid-ink site then it will be there for a purpose.
Accessibility is a triple winner. An accessible site is not just about meeting legal requirements, it is more likely to be easy to use for everyone and should get better ratings with search engines such as Google, increasing traffic to the site.
